Lewis has over twenty-years’ experience teaching history and politics in UK universities. He currently teaches Political Theory in SGIA, Durham University. He has a strong interest in in equality, diversity and inclusion issues in Higher Education and works with first generation students (first in their families to go to university). Along with colleagues Dr. Adrian Millican and Erin Hanson (2022; https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/00071005.2021.1966382), he published research on how to support disadvantaged first gens during the Covid pandemic. He is an executive member of the Forum for Access and Participation (FACE) and is currently working on several first gen. related projects.
