Dr
Matthew O’Meagher is the Director of the Latin America Centre
of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPE) and Principal Advisor (International
Reputation) at Victoria University of Wellington. A Fulbright scholar and former President of the
Latin America New Zealand Business Council, he has a PhD in History from Duke
University. In 1995 and 2002
he co-founded the Latin American Studies Programme and New Zealand Centre
of Latin American Studies at the University of Auckland, and in 2007 he
became New Zealand’s first Education Counsellor for Latin America in its
embassy in Chile. As a senior university international relations
leader, he has organized a QS
Politics and International Studies Subject Focus Summit and curated a
panel on knowledge partnerships across borders at the 2021 QS Americas
Virtual Summit. He was also a member of the closing panel on
brand and reputation at this year's QS India summit and a virtual presenter to the latest QS Americas Summit in September.
