Dr. Mullaicharam is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy, National University of Science and Technology (Formerly known as) Oman Medical College (OMC)), Oman, affiliated with West Virginia University, USA.  Before joining OMC in 2007, she carried out overall administrative activities as the Principal of the institution in India which ran Ph.D., PG, UG, Diploma, Medical Laboratory courses, and Assistant Nursing programs.

She has 27 years of teaching and research experience in the pharmacy field and has received awards at the national and international levels. She has 5 Australian innovation patents granted, one Indian patent published, and three German product utility patents granted.

She received many research grants from the Research Council, Oman, AICTE, HRD, India, and completed them successfully. External Reviewer of Projects- The Research Council, Oman She has a Google Scholar citation of 580 (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=qp8foxsAAAAJ ) and published 90 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented many papers at various conferences in India, Oman, Italy, USA, UK, and UAE. 

She has authored many book chapters and 4 textbooks. She is performing as editor of books in Taylor and Francis and Springer Nature. She performed as a management representative for ISO certification in India and completed it. She continued as Institutional Coordinator for the National Board of Accreditation process and received five-star status. She was serving as Head of Quality Assurance at OMC and currently, she is the Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee in the College of Pharmacy, National University of Science and Technology, Oman. 

In 2017, she was appointed as an external reviewer of the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority, Sultanate of Oman. OAAAQA - Oman Academic Accreditation Authority. She developed many courses in B.Pharm and M.Pharm and Guided many Students’ in UG, and PG Projects.

She is on the panel of the external examiner committee for Ph.D. theses of various universities and is on a panel of reviewers for peer-reviewed journals. She is a Registered Pharmacist, in India, and a life member of IPA, APTI, IPGA, and ISTE.
