Summary:
After completing my PhD in 2009,
I resumed my duties as assistant professor at Ahfad University teaching the
subjects of my interest in sociology and social work disciplines, then after in
2016 I joined AU to fill a position with the same job title and same duties and
responsibilities, teaching the subjects of sociology and social work and other
related disciplines. My research area of interest includes multidisciplinary
researches and assessments of social work and community development programmes
and projects, gender issues and women empowerment, Social Institutions
policies, youth, the welfare of elderly, welfare of special needs, family and
children. Since I joined AU staff I followed working in a team approach with
the academic colleagues to enrich the teaching, research and community services
to achieve the college and AU goals.

Dr. Nagwa is a highly qualified
and experienced professional with a strong background in sociology and social
work. Her qualifications include a Ph.D. from South Africa University, an M.A.
from Reading University, and a B.A. from Ahfad University. She has a diverse range
of experiences and achievements in her career, which make her a distinguished
scholar in her field.
She has worked as an Assistant
Professor at both Ajman University and Ahfad University, demonstrating her
commitment to academia. Her teaching expertise covers a wide array of subjects
related to sociology and social work, including Research Methods, Social
Development, Research Design & Applications, and Graduation Project.
Dr. Nagwa's research interests
are broad and encompass multidisciplinary areas, with a focus on Social Work
and Social Development. Her specific research areas include Artificial
Intelligence, Women’s Socioeconomic Empowerment, Gender Issues, Youth, Elder
People, Early Childhood Education, and People with Special Needs.
Her research contributions are
substantial, with more than 30 publications to her name. She has published 11
articles in refereed and highly indexed Scopus Journals between 2019 and 2023,
which have received 44 citations. Additionally, she has published in refereed
conference proceedings (6), authored books (3) between 2019 and 2022, and
contributed a chapter (1) in 2014.
Dr. Nagwa is not only a prolific
researcher but also actively participates in the academic community. She has
presented refereed papers and engaged in other scholarly activities, such as
serving as an arbitrator for research papers and editing for highly indexed
Scopus Journals.
Furthermore, her outstanding
contributions have been recognized through numerous awards and honors. She has
received the European Journal of Social Sciences' Distinguished International
Scholar Award, recognition as a distinguished researcher in the College of
Humanities and Sciences, and honors for excellence in research and graduate
project supervision. She has also been awarded a lifetime achievement award in
Sociology from the Center for Advanced Research and Design – Venus
International Foundation.
Dr. Nagwa is an active member of
various academic organizations, including the Humanities and Social Sciences
Research Center (HRC) at Ajman University, the British Association of Social
Workers (BASW), and the Author Learning Center in the USA. She also serves on
scientific committees for more than four international conferences.
In addition to her academic
achievements, Dr. Nagwa is technologically adept, with skills in using the
SEDONA System Management and conducting online sessions on Zoom. She has
undertaken professional development training in Transformative Learning in
2022-2023.
Her commitment to research,
teaching, and academic service, as well as her impressive list of
accomplishments, make Dr. Nagwa a highly respected and influential figure in
the field of sociology and social work.
