Rob Roggema is Distinguished Professor of Regenerative Culture at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey, and lead-author of the Architecture, Urban Design and Planning chapter of the third assessment report of the UCCRN. He is a Landscape Architect and an internationally renowned design-expert on sustainable urbanism, climate adaptation, and urban agriculture. He held several professorship positions in the Netherlands and Australia and has written numerous books and journal articles designing and planning for climate adaptation, urban nature, and urban agriculture, and is series editor of ‘Contemporary Urban Design Thinking’ (Springer). Rob initiated the Food-Energy-Water-nexus project ‘the Moveable Nexus’ (SUGI/JPI-Europe, leads the design team of ‘Nature-Rich Netherlands’ and Greening NEOM. He developed the Swarm Planning concept, a dynamic way of planning the city for future adaptation to climate impacts and has designed and led over 30 design charrettes around the world in design processes for more resilient communities.
