Dr. Salu Dsouza teaches at Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa campus, near Pune District, Maharashtra State, India.

Dr. Salu Dsouza has been working as a Lecturer and Researcher for the past 27 years. He completed BA from St. Joseph’s college Bangalore. He did M.A. degree in Political Science from Bangalore University campus where he secured First Rank and two Gold Medals. He has a Post-Graduation degree in Public Administration from Annamalai University and MA in English Language & Literature from Alagappa University. He is a University of Cambridge, UK, ESOL certified Teacher of English. He did CELTA (2007) from University of Cambridge, UK. He is a Trained and qualified School Accreditation Assessor (QCI/NABET). He has a Certificate from Trinity College London in using ICT in classroom. He has a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Education, (B.Ed.,) from M. E. S. College of Teacher Education, Bangalore.

He had taken up teaching assignments in the Republic of Maldives & in Eritrea (North East Africa). He was involved in research & teaching in the Department of Humanities at National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) - Surathkal. He has attended seminars, workshops, and conferences in India & abroad, national as well as international & presented papers on the theoretical contours of diaspora, literary, sociocultural, political, and economic aspects of Indian diaspora in the Caribbean, USA and other parts of the globe. Some research papers are published. He was one of the moderators & plenary speakers for few conferences/seminars & paper presentation sessions. He has been a Reviewer of Abstracts and Research Papers for conferences & seminars. He is one of the Reviewers of papers for few online journals including SCOPUS Indexed Journals. His interest is in Interdisciplinary & Transdisciplinary Studies. He has been actively involved in research process of Indian Diaspora and their contributions to host land and homeland.

He was awarded Jagdish Chandra Sharma Indian Political Science Association National Award – 2016 for encouraging young researchers dedicatedly working on Indian Diaspora. J. C. Sharma IPSA National Award is named after Shri Jagdish Chandra Sharma, one of the founders of Diaspora Studies in India. Award was given on 15 December 2017 during the 57th All India Annual Political Science Conference at University of Madras. He was awarded the Best Research Scholar Award for the year 2018 by DK International Research Foundation on Sunday 27 May 2018. He received Mahatma Gandhi National Award of Best Researcher (2018) by Mahatma Gandhi Education and Welfare Society, Parbhani, Maharashtra State on Saturday 30 March 2019 at Aurangabad. He was a Primary Evaluator in Toycathon 2021, he was selected & invited by the Ministry of Education - Innovation Cell, Government of India to evaluate the innovative toys designed by students from India, in its Toycathon - 2021 project. The certificate was issued on 15 December 2021. He was awarded Global Youth Icon Award 2022 by International Council for Education, Research and Training (ICERT), Haryana. He received Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Best Teacher – 2021 from the Mahatma Gandhi Education and Welfare Society, Parbhani, Maharashtra State, India on Saturday 24 December 2022 at Hotel Vatika, Wasmat Road, Parbhani District – 431401, Maharashtra State, India.   

He had represented Central University of Gujarat in the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from 2013. He did his M.Phil. & PhD from Central University of Gujarat. He is teaching at Christ University, Lavasa campus near Pune, Maharashtra State, India.
