Biography of Prof. Sanjay Jasola

Prof. Sanjay Jasola is a distinguished academician and administrator with a rich and varied career in the field of higher education. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University, a position he has held with dedication and distinction.

Born with a passion for education and a thirst for knowledge, Prof. Jasola embarked on his academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from KNIT Sultanpur. This was just the beginning of his academic pursuits, as he later went on to achieve a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Technology from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. His dedication to the field of computer science led him to further pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the School of Computer and System Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where he conducted groundbreaking research that would later become the foundation of his illustrious career.

 Prof. Jasola's career in academia and administration spans an impressive three decades, during which he has made significant contributions to education and research. Prior to joining Graphic Era, he held key leadership roles, including Dean (Academics) and Dean (School of ICT) at Gautam Buddha University, Greater NOIDA. These roles allowed him to shape the academic landscape and foster innovation in the field of information and communication technology.

 His commitment to global education extended beyond the borders of India, as he served as a faculty member at Wawasan Open University in Penang, Malaysia, and as Deputy Director at the prestigious Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi. Prof. Jasola's expertise was not confined to the classroom; he also lent his knowledge and insights to international organizations, including the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada, the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre For Asia (CEMCA), UNESCO, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). One of Prof. Jasola's most notable achievements was his pivotal role in implementing the EDUSAT Network in India, a groundbreaking initiative recognized with the Gold Medal for Innovation in Open & Distance Learning by IGNOU. This endeavor, undertaken during the tenure of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, then President of India, marked a significant milestone in India's educational landscape.

Throughout his career, Prof. Jasola has been a prolific researcher and author, having published over 80 papers in international and national journals, conferences, and book chapters.
