Professor, Dr. Vice-Rector of International Affairs & Extroversion
Theodoros Xanthos is a Professor of Physiology
& Pathophysiology at the School of Health Sciences and the Vice-Rector of International
Affairs & Extroversion at the University of West Attica. He has completed his
undergraduate studies in medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University
of Athens (NKUA), his specialization in cardiology in the UK and his PhD in
translational Research in Resuscitation in NKUA. He also has MSc degrees in Medical
Education and clinical toxicology (University of Cardiff) and MRes in Higher
Education Leadership (University of Liverpool). Dr. Xanthos holds a position as an Adjunct
Full Professor at Midwestern University of Chicago and an Adjunct Full Professor
of the University of Mutah, Jordan. He has taught in all three levels in Higher
Education, he has supervised 35 PhD theses and 278 MSc theses. He has authored
21 Medical Textbooks and he has been an invited speaker in more than 100
Congresses. His research interest is focused on cardiac arrest/Resuscitation,
Medical Education, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology. He is an elected Fellow of
the Academy of Higher Education (FHEA), the Academy of Medical Educators (FAcadMed),
the European Resuscitation Council (FERC), the European Society of Cardiology (FESC),
the Academy of translational medicine (FAcadTM), the American Academy of
Clinical Pharmacology (FCP) and the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM). He is
also a European Certified Toxicologist (ERT). He has authored 298 publications

He has significant Leadership experience as the Chair of the Department
of Medicine, Senate member, Chair of the Internal Quality Assurance Committee
and now holds the title of the Vice-Rector of International Affairs &
Extroversion. He is also the President of the Hellenic Society of
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. He has served on the executive board of the Academy
of Medical Educators and the Network for
Health Workforce Education. He has also served as an accreditor for various
schools and Universities in Europe and the USA.
