Professor Dr. Adel Ahmed (Ph.D., FHEA, Fellow ISDS) is a distinguished scholar, practitioner, and leader in the field of Accounting, Ethical and Sustainable Finance. He is a University Full Professor and a core member of the Research Center of Excellence for Sustainability at Amity University Dubai, where he also leads the Sustainable Finance Workgroup for the UAE Universities Climate Network (UCN). With a career spanning over 30 years in the UK and MENA regions, Professor Ahmed has held high-impact leadership roles, including Academic President at Birmingham City University (UAE Campus), Vice President at Amity University Dubai, and Dean at Al Ain University.
He has been instrumental in embedding sustainability and ethics into business education, curriculum design, and institutional governance. Professor Ahmed is a prolific author with more than 60 Scopus-indexed publications and has been awarded for excellence in teaching, research, and international keynote speaking—most recently recognized with Best Paper Awards at ICAEBT 2025 and Abu Dhabi University. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the International Education Management Agency (IEMA) and a Court Expert on Islamic Finance, advising on Murabaha, Ijarah, Sukuk, and other Shariah-compliant contracts.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and the International Society for Development and Sustainability (Japan), Professor Ahmed champions interdisciplinary collaboration, sustainable development, and the future of higher education. His current focus includes policy-driven sustainable finance models, digital transformation in financial services, and aligning ESG and SDG metrics within institutional performance frameworks.
