Dr. Armando Elizondo Noriega is a Continuing Education Instructor and Researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey. With a solid academic background that includes a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a dual Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Tec de Monterrey and Texas Tech University), a master’s degree in Industrial Design and Product Innovation, and a postdoctoral fellowship in applied research, Dr. Elizondo combines science, practice, and teaching with excellence.

His experience as a researcher has been key in high-level consulting projects, such as the one developed for BMW Group at its San Luis Potosí plant, generating analytical solutions in a world-class industrial environment. He is the author of more than 65 academic publications, including Q1/Q2 journal articles, Scopus-indexed conference papers, and book chapters, and he holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification, which reinforces his expertise in continuous improvement and operational quality.

He has successfully led and managed national and international funding projects, submitting proposals to NSF, NIH, DOE, and USDA in the U.S., as well as SEHICyT in Mexico. In addition, he has executed more than half a million Mexican pesos (USD 25,000) in NOVUS projects over three years—all successfully completed—and secured nearly 100,000 Mexican pesos (USD 5,000) in private funds for applied research (Tec R&D).

With excellent teaching evaluations in undergraduate and graduate programs, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the 2024 faculty ranking process at Tecnológico de Monterrey. An active member of international institutions such as PMI, PICMET, ASEM, IISE, SMIO, IEEE, TEMS, AIChE, and IMIQ, his professional experience at SafeTraces Inc. in Silicon Valley—a company recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative startups—further strengthens his profile as a strategic, systemic academic with a strong business and international vision.

He is an expert in systems simulation, data analytics, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, product design, agile methodologies, and user-centered design.
