I studied Computer Systems Engineering at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Querétaro Campus, and after graduating in 2007, I began working at a research lab focused on developing technologies for education. There, I worked for two years on computational models to represent knowledge and skills using XML schemas. At the same time, I pursued a Master's degree in Information Technology Management at the Virtual University, and upon completing it in 2010, I joined the CONACYT scholarship program to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Estado de México Campus. During my Ph.D., I completed a couple of research stays at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom to analyze how Intelligent Tutoring Systems represent information about the students who interact with them. While pursuing my Ph.D., I also started working as a part-time professor, and after completing my doctorate in 2016, I joined the computer science department at the Querétaro Campus as a full-time professor.
Throughout my academic and professional life, I have lived in several countries and cities through exchanges or research stays, but I prefer living in Mexico, particularly in Querétaro. In summary, I have lived in Mexico City, Colorado (U.S.A.), Prague (Czech Republic), Brighton (England), Berkeley (U.S.A.), among others.
