
Dr Christian Schott is
Associate Professor in Management for Sustainability at Te Herenga
Waka-Victoria University of Wellington in Aotearoa New Zealand. His research
interests include the impacts of tourism, sustainability, climate change,
education for sustainability, and VR and education. Christian is Director of
the Principles of Responsible Management Education at WSBG and leads a
trans-disciplinary project harnessing virtual reality technology to foster
experiential education about sustainability, which was awarded the Gold Award
Sustainability at the prestigious QS-Wharton 2020/21 Reimagine Education
Awards. Christian has been invited to speak at the New Zealand Parliament about
Sustainable and Regenerative Tourism, published in high impact tourism and
education journals, serves as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Sustainable
Tourism, and received the ‘Research Article of the Year 2018 Award’ in the
highly ranked journal Tourism Recreation Research (with Sochea Nhem). In
2022, Christian was awarded the Te Whatu Kairangi | Aotearoa New Zealand
National Tertiary Educator Award.
