Dr. Cabrera graduated Cum Laude from the University of Batangas in 2009 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. In the same year, he passed the licensure examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and immediately after, pursued higher studies in the field of Business Administration. He earned his Master’s degree in 2013 and Doctoral degree in 2016 as Magna Cum Laude. He is also awarded Associate Fellow in Business Education (AFBE) by Philippine Academy of Professionals in Business Education (PAPBE) in 2015. Also, he earned his Diploma of Leadership and Management from Australian Skills Institute in November 2015 and completed the CHED Global Academic Leadership Program at the Asian Institute of Management in June 2023

He is also an active member of various professional accounting and business organizations. He served the National Association of CPAs in Education as Treasurer in 2016-2018 and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Batangas Chapter as President in 2017-2018. He is also the auditor of the Network of CALABARZON Educational Institutions (NOCEI) from August 2019 to July 2023 and the Director for Education of PICPA Batangas Chapter for FY 2022-2024.

He was awarded by PICPA as the 2016 Young Achiever in Education, a national award given to CPA in education for his outstanding achievement and distinguished performance as an accounting educator, at an early stage of his career, thus contributing to the prestige of the accountancy profession and Outstanding Chapter President for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, a national award given to chapter president who exhibited exemplary performance in leading and serving the chapter, thus achieving the goals and objectives set by the national professional organization. He is also awarded as the 2022 Most Outstanding Innovative Leader and Educator by the International Organization of Educators and Researchers and 2023 Outstanding Individual in the Field of Accounting Education by the Instabright Global Excellence Awards.

He is also often invited as guest lecturer on Accounting and Financial Management topics and has presented researches before foreign academicians and entrepreneurs and being a research enthusiast made his researches published in national and international journal publication. He serves as Editorial Board Member of IOER International Multidisciplinary Research Journal since May 2021. Besides that, he is also an accountant/consultant of cooperatives in Batangas. He also serves as guest lecturer of business management courses in the master’s and doctorate program of University of Batangas and MS reviewer of LCRC CPA Review Center in Calamba City, Laguna. 

He served as the VP for Research, Extension, Planning and Development of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas from June 2018 to May 2021 and appointed as VP for Academic Affairs from June 2021 to August 2023. Also, he worked with DMMC Institute of Health Sciences as VP for Finance and Administrative Affairs from September 2023 to March 2024. Currently, he is the AVP for Institutional Quality Assurance of University of Batangas. Despite his preoccupation with his varied responsibilities, he never forgets his prime duty as loving husband to his wife, Ericka and responsible father to his daughter, Eurie Darleen and son, Euan Darveen.
