Dr. Glen C. Cagurangan is a dynamic thought leader, transformational educator, and trailblazer in hospitality and tourism management. With a career deeply rooted in academic excellence, institutional innovation, and community impact, Dr. Cagurangan currently serves as the Director for Community Extension and Research and Dean of the College of Hospitality at the University of Cagayan Valley. In these dual capacities, he spearheads the university’s initiatives on sustainable development, inclusive education, and research-based community empowerment.

An academic by vocation and a visionary by action, Dr. Cagurangan holds multiple academic credentials: a double degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Management, a Master of Science in Hospitality Management, a Doctorate in Business Management, and ongoing doctoral studies in Hospitality Management at the Philippine Women’s University. These qualifications reflect not only his scholarly rigor but also his relentless pursuit of educational advancement.

Dr. Cagurangan’s influence spans both the classroom and the wider community. He has held pivotal roles including Director for Research, Extension and Linkages, Graduate School Program Coordinator, Research Panel Chair, and Academic Team Leader at St. Paul University Philippines. He is also a Certified Hospitality Professional and TESDA-accredited with NC II and NC III certifications in core hospitality disciplines, underscoring his practical industry competence.

A prolific scholar, Dr. Cagurangan has authored and co-authored numerous high-impact studies on culinary innovation, cultural integration, hospitality education, and tourism behavior. Many of his works have been published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented in regional, national, and global conferences. Notably, his creative works and utility models have earned intellectual property recognition from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, exemplifying his commitment to innovation and knowledge creation.

He actively contributes to professional organizations, including the Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI), the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP), and serves as Regional Coordinator for the Philippine Research in Tourism and Hospitality Councils (PRTHC), as well as Board Director of the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB).
