Joy brings extensive international experience, having been exposed to both the Chinese and British educational systems. She served as an Accounting and Finance Lecturer at the International College in Beijing, a joint educational program with the University of Luton and the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom. She has also visited various higher education institutions across Asia and Europe for professional training, research presentations, faculty exchange, cultural immersion, and educational benchmarking.

In the Philippines, she previously held several key academic and administrative positions: Dean of the College of Business, Chair of the Graduate Business Department, and Chair of the Accountancy Department at the Adventist University of the Philippines; Associate Professor of Accountancy at Malayan Colleges Laguna; and Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of Accountancy at the E.T. Yuchengco School of Business and Management, formerly under the Mapúa Institute of Technology in Makati City. She also gained industry experience as a Cost Analyst at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies in the Laguna Technopark.

In November 2022, she assumed the position of Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Las Piñas.

She has also served in the following capacities:

• Member, Commission on Higher Education Composite Team (CCT), through the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG) (2025)

• Accreditor and Trainer, Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities – Accrediting Council, Inc. (ACSCU-ACI) (2010–Present)

• Member, Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) for Accountancy Education, CHED Region IV-A (2019–2022)
