Sustainability Strategist | Sci-Fi Author | Technologist in the Making

Multidisciplinary professional with 9+ years’ experience in higher education, sustainability strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Skilled in sustainability reporting, data storytelling, and institutional benchmarking. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Software Engineering (Mobile App Development) to bridge tech and impact-driven education.

Also an award-winning author of young adult sci-fi, with nationally recognised works exploring tech, identity, and the future. Passionate about combining systems thinking, creativity, and education to drive meaningful change.

Hailed from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, this Pahangite's journey has been anything but one-dimensional. Born in April 1982, she comes from a background in biomedical engineering, dipped into business management, and now is diving deeper into tech as she pursues a Master’s in Software Engineering, specialising in Mobile App Development.

Since 2022, she has been part of the editorial board for UTAR’s annual Sustainability Reports, where she helps coordinate and compile data which she then transforms into shaped and polished narratives that reflect the university’s ongoing sustainability efforts. She works closely with students, alumni, and different teams across campus to identify and understand the needs so that more relevant programmes can be created, which will help strengthen the university's community engagement. A project she submitted on behalf of the university was shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024. Her recent participation as one of the university's task force committee members of QS STARS Rating has widened her horizon and made her realise that the world of sustainability is evolving, and the key to keep up or go beyond the evolution is education. Together with UTAR Sustainability Committee, she currently works on developing the university's latest Sustainability Framework 2026-2050.

She penned two prize-winning sci-fi novels for young adults; Revolusi Nanik (think of it as Terminator meets Doom) and Kronikel Bumi (Final Fantasy meets Mobile Suit Gundam meets Prison Break in a quest for Earth's pure water); and her short story Bilik 101 (linguistic discourse taking place in Virtual Reality) won a consolation prize.
