An award-winning, passionate and committed lecturer with more than 25 years of professional and lecturing experiences in public universities and private higher education institutions in Singapore, Vietnam and China, James specializes in teaching positive and coaching psychology, corporate finance, financial accounting/reporting, management accounting, marketing, management/leadership, corporate governance and sustainability reporting at professional, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is currently an adjunct lecturer at the University of Newcastle.

He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Western Australia and eight master's degrees in educational assessment, positive psychology and coaching psychology, business administration, business research, digital education, marketing, adult learning and leadership, and investment and finance. James is a fellow member of several accountancy bodies in Singapore, Australia and the UK. He is a Fellow member of the Higher Education Academy. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching.
