
Mirna
González-González, Ph.D., is an associate research professor at the School of
Medicine and Health Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey and a researcher at
the Unit of Bioengineering and Medical Devices at the Institute for Obesity
Research at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Her main research area is focused on the
development of novel bioengineering platforms for stem cell-based bioprocesses
and early detection technologies.
Dr.
Mirna González-González holds a degree in
Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with a specialization
in Biotechnology. She is an Associate Research Professor at the School of
Medicine and Health Sciences, Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), and Principal
Investigator at the Bioengineering and Medical Devices Unit of the university’s
Obesity Research Institute.
She
teaches hands-on undergraduate courses within the TEC21 educational model and
contributes to graduate programs at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences,
where she has mentored and graduated 15 graduate students.
Dr.
González-González is a Level I member of Mexico’s National System of
Researchers (SNI), a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC), and
serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. She is also a regular invited
reviewer for journals such as PLOS ONE, Separation and Purification
Technology, and Food and Bioproducts Processing, among others. She
is the author of more than 45 peer-reviewed scientific publications in her
field.
