Prof. Nodirali Normakhamatov is a bioorganic chemist and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute. He received his B.A. from Namangan State University (1997), Ph.D. from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences (2006), and D.Sc. from the same institute (2017). He has conducted postdoctoral research in Germany, the USA, China, and Japan.

His research focuses on the development of targeted-therapy drugs against cancer, HCV, leukemia, and HIV based on carbohydrate derivatives, as well as natural antioxidants, plant-based pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Prof. Normakhamatov has authored over 160 scientific works, including more than 120 papers in international journals, and holds several patents. He has served as principal investigator for numerous governmental and international research projects.

Prof. Normakhamatov is a recipient of DAAD, MIF, and TWAS-CAS fellowships and the Presidential “Talent” Grant (2002, 2005). He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Problems and Perspectives of Pharmaceutics and Drug Discovery and is a member of several international editorial boards. Since 2018, he has held his current position after previously serving as junior and senior research associate (2003–2017). He also leads the organization of annual international scientific conferences at the institute.
