Dr. Omkar Madan Kaulgud is an
accomplished Mechanical Engineer with a Ph.D. in Welding Technology from MIT
World Peace University, Pune, Maharashtra, India. With over a decade of diverse
experience across industry and academia, he brings a unique blend of technical
depth, hands-on engineering practice, and academic leadership.
Dr.
Kaulgud began his professional journey as a Design Engineer at BOFCO Engineers
Pvt. Ltd., where he contributed to mechanical system design, procurement, and
on-site commissioning. His industry experience spans thermal and static
analysis, cooling towers, industrial furnaces, and heat exchanger systems.
Transitioning
into academia, Dr. Kaulgud served as an Assistant Professor at MIT World Peace
University for nearly eight years. During this tenure, he taught core subjects
in Mechanical Engineering and led student projects focused sustainable goals on
real-world industrial applications. He also played a key role in equipment
procurement and commissioning for technical laboratories.
In
2024, Dr. Kaulgud joined Symbiosis International University as Assistant
Registrar, first in the Admissions and STS division, and later in Quality and
Benchmarking. In these roles, he has contributed to developing institutional
policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening governance systems
aligned with UGC norms.
His
core competencies include welding engineering, heat exchanger design, cost
reduction strategies, plant layout visualization, technical procurement, and
implementation of lean manufacturing practices such as 5S.
