
Dr. Shan is an accomplished academic leader and researcher with more than two decades of experience in higher education. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Anna University, following a Master’s in Communication Systems and a Bachelor’s in Electronics & Communication Engineering.

He excels at forging robust industry partnerships, designing forward-looking academic policies, introducing innovative teaching and assessment methods, and leading national and international accreditation processes.
Certified as an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (QMS) and a Government-approved “Zero Effect, Zero Defect” (ZED) manufacturing auditor, Dr. Shan also serves as a Master Trainer for MSMEs through the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), championing excellence in Industry 4.0 practices.
Dr. Shan’s research interests span signal processing, computer vision, space technology, and remote-sensing applications. He has delivered hundreds of invited lectures, published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers, and supervised numerous doctoral scholars. A Senior Member of IEEE, he also holds memberships in ISTE, IETE, the Quality Council of India, and the Computer Society of India, and regularly reviews for leading international journals. Within CII, he evaluates low-cost automation projects that advance smart manufacturing.
