Dr. Rawaa A. Faris 

Dr. Rawaa A. Faris is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Industrial and Engineering Applications Department at the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad. She holds a Ph.D. in Laser Applications and has extensive expertise in photonics, nanomaterials, and biosensors for medical diagnostics. Her research interests include laser–material interactions, optical fiber sensors, and lab-on-chip microfluidic devices for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

Dr. Al-Saaday has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as Optical Materials, Optics Communications, Vibrational Spectroscopy, and Applied Optics, and co-authored the academic book Optical Properties for Prepared Silver Nano Composite (LAP Lambert, 2017). She also serves as an Academic Editor at PLOS ONE and has acted as a reviewer for IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, and OSA journals.

She has been an invited speaker and scientific committee member at several international conferences in optics, photonics, and nanotechnology. In addition to her academic contributions, Dr. Al-Saaday is active in mentoring and empowering women in STEM and has received multiple awards for her teaching and research excellence.
