Research interests

Marketing and Sustainability

Investigating how companies curate their identities to reflect sustainability commitments and align them with UN Sustainable Development Goals. This includes analysing how organisations communicate their sustainability efforts and the impact of these messages on brand perception and consumer trust.

 

Branding strategies

Investigating how brands can utilise social media platforms to cultivate and strengthen their identity as sustainable organisations. This involves researching strategies for crafting authentic and captivating content that resonates with environmentally conscious consumers while ensuring transparency and avoiding deceptive practices.

 

 

Education for Sustainability

Investigating how universities embed sustainability within their campus operations, curriculum, community engagement, and cultural practices. By exploring the integration of sustainability principles across these domains, the research aims to understand and enhance the role of higher education institutions in fostering a sustainable future.

Career highlights

 

·      Romas started his academic journey in Lithuania, completing a bachelor's and master's degree in Thermal Engineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) while working in the building maintenance industry.

·      In 2008, he relocated to the UK to pursue a bachelor’s degree in International Business Strategy at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).

·      Romas was awarded a scholarship to pursue a PhD in Education for Sustainability in Business and Management at ARU, and he completed it in 2019.

·      Before joining King’s, Romas taught undergraduate and postgraduate students at Anglia Ruskin University, London College of Fashion, and the University of Salford.
