
Zeinab Amin has served the American University in Cairo (AUC) for almost 20 years and has held a variety of positions, including Professorships in Statistics and Actuarial Science, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the School of Sciences and Engineering, and Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation (current position). Amin is a member of the American Society of Actuaries, a certified actuarial expert at the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, and a member of the International Statistical Institute. Amin is a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the National Authority for Quality Assurance & Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). AUC has recognized Amin with its Excellence in Academic Service Award in 2016 and its Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009. As a faculty member at AUC, Amin has taught a variety of statistics and actuarial science courses, ranging from introductory courses in statistics and applied probability to advanced courses in insurance loss modeling, life contingencies, and enterprise risk management. Amin’s current research interests include quality assurance in education, risk assessment and management, and reliability analysis.
