
Associate Professor Dr Adeline Chia Yoke Yin is the Head of the School of Biosciences at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. She obtained her PhD in Molecular Medicine from Monash University. Her expertise spans molecular biology, biochemistry, endocrinology, regenerative medicine, and drug discovery, with a strong emphasis on diabetes, neurodegeneration, cancer, and natural product therapeutics. As a principal investigator and collaborator, Dr Chia has led pioneering projects in stem cell reprogramming for pancreatic beta-cell regeneration, exosome-based anti-inflammatory therapies, biomarker discovery for cardiovascular diseases, and anticancer peptides from natural sources. Her research excellence is recognized through high-impact publications, competitive grants, and national awards, including the Anugerah Khas Menteri Pengajian Tinggi (2022) for curriculum innovation.
Beyond her university leadership, Dr Chia serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB), Vice President of the Malaysian Biomedical Science Association (MyBiomed), and an active member of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia – Young Scientists Network (YSN-ASM), as well as global scientific bodies such as the IUBMB. She was recently appointed as an Adjunct Faculty at the Biology Department, Far Eastern University, Philippines—reflecting her commitment to advancing biosciences education, fostering international collaborations, and nurturing future researchers across Asia.
