Dr Ahmed Gharib is a Lecturer in Health and Human Services Leadership at the University of Tasmania and a Health Program Evaluator at Primary Health Tasmania, Australia. His work spans healthcare leadership, digital health, program evaluation, and health professions education, with a particular focus on technology-enhanced learning, clinical supervision, and workforce development.
Ahmed has extensive experience across clinical, academic, and health system settings, having worked in governmental, non-governmental, and higher education sectors in both managerial and frontline healthcare roles. He is also an Associate Editor for the Evaluation Journal of Australasia and actively contributes to academic peer review, research evaluation, and international conference committees.
His research interests centre on the integration of digital and simulation-based innovations in healthcare education, including computer-based simulation, artificial intelligence, interprofessional education, and contemporary models of clinical supervision. His doctoral research explored the barriers and facilitators influencing the adoption of computer-based simulation in pharmacy education across global contexts.
Ahmed has presented and collaborated internationally on topics related to healthcare leadership, educational innovation, and evaluation. Through his academic and professional roles, he is passionate about supporting evidence-informed, equitable, and future-focused approaches to health workforce education and system improvement.
