Short Bio of Prof. Ahmed Sharaf Eldin
Being among the first generation of computer specialists in
Egypt, Dr. Sharaf Eldin is considered a recognized Prof. in Information Systems
and Computer Science. He is currently the dean of the Faculty of IT and CS at
SU. He was also the head of the scientific council of the Egyptian Medical
Fellowship program in Health Informatics. In fact, and through a TEMPUS III
fund, he introduced Medical and Bio-Informatics academic and training programs in Egypt since 2004. He also established the QA mechanisms
in Egyptian Universities since the year 2004. He also established the student
assessment center of Helwan University. He was contracted by the UNDP to do
different tasks, including training, over the last few years (SSA). He is one
of the Egyptian members of the “Bologna Promoters” funded by the EU/Tempus. He
has been appointed as the coordinator of the Computing Sector Committee in the
Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities. He was the coordinator of two Tempus
III projects and act as a contact person for other 3 Tempus IV projects, 2
Erasmus Mundus (Action 2) projects, and 1 Erasmus+ project. He has broad
experience in curriculum development according to European standards. One of
his achievements was the introduction of Software Engineering academic programs
for the first time in Egyptian universities. He served as a QS judge
several times.
