Arome Ibrahim is an immersive technologist, researcher, and advisor to startups and tech ecosystems, focused on driving positive change across Africa. He is the Research and Program Director at Immersive Tech Africa, a social impact initiative dedicated to making Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies accessible across Africa.

Arome’s work in immersive technology and innovation has been recognized internationally. He is a recipient of the Next Economy Entrepreneurship Hero and Impact Awards, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His project Virtuality Africa, a virtual reality museum that highlights contemporary African art and culture, won the Digital Lab Africa #5 XR Award and was selected for the New Dimensions Lab by Electric South, with support from the Ford Foundation.

He has also been recognized as one of the Top 50 Voices in VR, AR, and 3D by Threedium in 2021 and was chosen as one of the 10 Emerging African Creators by Garage Stories and the NewImages Festival in Paris. Arome has spoken at major international events such as AWE EU, Global XR Conference, WebXR Summit, Qatar XR Summit, and Laval Virtual Paris, where he shared his views on immersive technologies and their impact on building more inclusive and forward-looking ecosystems.
