
Dr. Biju Sayed is equipped with a total of 30+ years of experience as a higher education academician, specializing in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. As of the current date, he has been involved with the teaching and learning processes for approximately 20000+ students, particularly in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). His services have been extended via teaching, research, curriculum development, advising, learning and development, training, management and administration, community services, consultancy, accreditation processes, examinations and assessments, faculty mentoring, student affairs, registration and other higher education related services to name a few. In addition, under community services, he has been voluntarily associated as a senior management board committee member of well-known secondary educational institution that caters secondary education to over 5000+ students, thereby sharing and gaining knowledge, skills at all levels throughout the education sector.
He is currently associated as an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Dhofar University, Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, has been remarkably involved in the institutional and program accreditation processes via various university committees.
His research area and interests are mainly in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied over various domains specifically machine learning, soft computing, social networking, data mining, education management, education assessment, smart power grid, knowledge management systems, decision support and expert systems. Accomplishments include having published 90+ research papers inclusive of reputed Scopus indexed and Web of Science journals, some with impact factors, international and national conferences, apart from participating in various national and international seminars and workshops. His total impact factor inclusive of all the journals as of date has exceeded 80+.
He is currently working with research on large sets of data to measure the “Attainment of Graduate Attributes & Learning Outcomes in an Outcome Based Educational system”. To supplement the credentials, he has registered a patent through unique methodology on “Attainment of Graduate Attributes and Learning Outcomes”. Simultaneously, he has also developed a full-fledged unique software titled “Learning Outcomes Blaze” to measure the PLOs (Program Learning Outcomes), CLOs (Course Learning Outcomes), GAs (Graduate Attributes), QFs (Qualifications Frameworks) and VCs (Vocational Competencies). As a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), he has received and executed a research project worth USD 306746.00, with a fabulous team of researchers, under the government grant.
