Carlos Enrique George-Reyes holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and is a professor-researcher at the Universidad Bolivariana del Ecuador, where he directs the WISE Research Group: AI Literacy Hub. He is the creator of the Maker@Women STEM project, funded by the European Union through Erasmus+, with the participation of Latin American and European universities. He also serves as a graduate professor at the School of Humanities and Education of Tecnológico de Monterrey.

He has carried out research stays in Cuba, Finland, and Germany, and has promoted projects on emerging digital literacies, computational thinking, and educational entrepreneurship in Colombia, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, Estonia, and Ecuador. His research lines focus on educational innovation, the evaluation of the impact of emerging technologies, and disruptive pedagogical strategies, such as Maker pedagogy.

He is a member of the National System of Researchers of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI) in Mexico, the Mexican Council for Educational Research (COMIE), the Thematic Network on Digital Literacy, the Mexican Society of Comparative Education (SOMEC), and the Research Group on Emerging Technologies for Learning (GITEMA-Cuba). He has published articles in high-impact journals, book chapters, and papers presented at prestigious international academic conferences.
