
Dr. Claudia S. López Cruz is a distinguished educator, researcher, and innovation leader with more than 35 years of experience in higher education, educational innovation, design, and faculty development. Her professional trajectory combines expertise in design, cognition, learning, educational technology, and strategic academic management. Her research interests focus on learning processes, color perception, cognition, and educational innovation, with a personal mission to help individuals maximize their potential through transformative learning experiences.
She currently serves as Professor at the School of Architecture, Art and Design at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus, where she teaches design principles, UX, graphic design, and digital tools while mentoring students in creative problem-solving and innovation. Previously, she held major institutional leadership positions at Tecnológico de Monterrey, including Leader of Innovation and Strategic Innovation for Faculty Development, Northern Regional Director for the Teaching and Learning Centers (CEDDIEs), and Institutional Leader of Experimentation and Impact Measurement of Innovation across the university’s 32 campuses. In these roles, she coordinated large-scale educational innovation projects involving thousands of professors and students and managed multimillion-dollar budgets dedicated to transforming teaching and learning processes.
Dr. López Cruz has extensive experience in curricular redesign and educational innovation. She has designed and implemented undergraduate and graduate academic programs for several Mexican universities, integrating interdisciplinary approaches, blended learning models, and educational technologies. Her expertise includes qualitative and quantitative educational research, faculty development strategies, onboarding systems for adjunct faculty, educational innovation assessment, and the development of pedagogical training frameworks.
Her academic background includes a PhD in Design specialized in New Technologies from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), a Master’s degree in Design with concentration in New Technologies, a specialization in Hypermedia, and certifications in Project Management and Marketing. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in her doctoral, master’s, and specialization programs.
As a researcher and author, Dr. López Cruz has published articles, conference proceedings, books, and book chapters focused on educational innovation, digital learning, color perception, cognitive experiences, educational assessment, and design. Her work has been presented internationally in conferences in Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain. She maintains academic visibility through Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Scopus, with an H-index of 5 and i10-index of 4.
In addition to her academic career, she is Founder of CLOD’s Visual Communication Bureau of Design, where she has developed projects in branding, editorial production, communication strategy, multimedia design, and corporate identity for public and private organizations. Her professional practice integrates design, communication, educational strategy, and innovation management.
