DR.
DANILO B. SOLAYAO is a distinguished educator, researcher, and academic leader
with over three decades of unwavering commitment to the Philippine educational
landscape. He currently serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs
(VPAA) at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun), where he provides
strategic direction to the university’s diverse academic programs.
Dr.
Solayao’s career is a testament to the evolution of a
"Teacher-Researcher." Having spent 30 years traversing the path from
a dedicated classroom instructor to an expert in educational management, he
possesses a unique, grounded perspective on the vital role of research in
pedagogical success. His scholarly contributions are particularly noted in the
fields of government scholarship impact studies and the integration of
gamification in teacher education, bridging the gap between theoretical
frameworks and actual classroom competence.
Beyond
his administrative duties at PLMun, Dr. Solayao holds several key leadership
positions in the national academic community. He is the Chairperson of the
Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators – National Capital Region
(PAFTE-NCR) and a life member of the Linguistic Society of the Philippines
(LSP). His expertise is recognized globally, having served as a Judge for the
QS Reimagine Education Awards for two consecutive years and as an Assessor for
the DILG – Local Government Academy.
A
lifelong learner with an extensive academic background, Dr. Solayao holds a
doctorate in educational management and several Master’s degrees in Teaching,
Business Administration, and Public Administration.
His
advocacy extends to his being an Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Practitioner, a
Rotarian, and more than anything, a servant leader serving as Associate Pastor
of a Christian church in San Pedro City, Laguna, Philippines.
On a personal note, DR. DAN is married to a bicolana, Dr. Ma. CARMEN Dina, an Education Program Supervisor at DepEd Muntinlupa. They are blessed with two lovely boys, PAOLO, a Medical Doctor, and PATRICK, a Software Engineer and a Doctor of Jurisprudence student, all of whom he considers as source of his inspirations.
