Dean Riley is an education leader with nearly two decades of experience creating transformative learning experiences that connect classrooms with the natural world. Holding a BSc (Hons) in Physics with Space Science & Technology, a PGCE in Secondary School Physics, and an MBA in Educational Leadership, Dean combines academic rigour with real-world innovation.

Before joining Hero Experiences Group as General Manager of Absolute Adventure, Dean played a leading role in shaping the education programme of Expo 2020 Dubai and later Expo City Dubai. He played a leading role in the development and delivery of large-scale education programmes that engaged more than 1.5 million students through immersive workshops, science shows, sustainability experiences, and curriculum-linked learning journeys. His work focused on connecting young people with real-world innovation and industry expertise, while making complex global challenges accessible, engaging, and action-driven for schools across the UAE.

Dean also led UAE-wide educational initiatives promoting environmental awareness and citizen science, including pollinator programmes designed to support biodiversity education and school-based research. Through his work, he has consistently championed experiential learning as a way to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and long-term environmental stewardship.

Today, Dean leads Absolute Adventure’s mission to help young people and educators explore, learn, and grow through outdoor and environmental education. He believes some of the world’s most powerful learning experiences happen beyond the classroom, where adventure, nature, and education come together.
