Der Jiun is a biochemist and innovation leader with over 10 years of experience translating biomedical science into scalable education and research initiatives. Passionate about sustainability, he is committed to aligning AI adoption with environmental responsibility. As a senior lecturer and head of pre-clinical sciences at MAHSA University, he leads a team of 12 academic staff serving 175 students annually. He introduced an AI literacy module focused on responsible AI use and received the Intel AI Impact Shapers Award for two consecutive years (2022-2023). As a certified AI for Good Educator by AI Singapore and Meta, he has trained over 350 participants in ethical and responsible AI adoption. He is also actively pursuing interdisciplinary collaborations and continuously exploring emerging technologies to drive innovation in both education and research.
