
Devasheesh
is an Assistant Professor at the International Management Institute, New Delhi,
in Strategic Management. He is the Chairperson of the Center for Business
Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Incubation at IMI Delhi. He mentors early-stage
startups and coaches startups to scale strategically.
He
is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and he has 17 years
of experience at think tanks and start-ups. He has worked on policy
implementation for the WHO and the Ministry of Health in India. He has recently
gravitated towards strategic foresight due to his work in systems research,
which led him to start a foresight-based firm to help disseminate the paradigm
in India. He received the Emerging Scholar Award 2023 from the Common Grounds
Research Network, USA.
His
doctoral research work at MDI Gurgaon has dealt with the process of
radical innovations in public health in India. He teaches courses on
Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Business and Government Affairs,
Public Systems Analyses, etc. One of his courses is popular among students, titled ‘The Art and Science of Starting Up’, which enables students to ideate
and build a worthy startup during their management studies.
He has worked on consultative projects funded by the World Health Organization and delivered to the National Health Agency related to policy monitoring and impact evaluations of government programs. He has published peer-reviewed
research articles in BMC Health Services Research, Journal of Public Health and
Development, International Journal of Health Governance, etc., and open
editorial pieces in leading dailies. He is one of the founding members of the Indian Public Policy Network and a member of the Confederation of Indian Industries, the Association of Public Policy and Management, the Academy of Management, and the International Public Policy Association. He is
the recipient of the Emerging Scholar Award 2023 by Common Grounds Research
Network, USA.
