
Assoc Professor Srinivasan Dinesh Kumar is a distinguished academic and educator at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine). Currently serving as the Medical Science Lead for Cardiovascular System Block and Lead of Continuing Education and Training (CET), he is actively involved in developing curricula and modules for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. His passion for mentoring extends to undergraduate medical students, as evidenced by his role as a House Master Mentor for HUMILITAS at NUS Medicine.
Prof. Srinivasan's research interests span a wide range of fields, including higher education pedagogy, technology-enhanced learning, medical education, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and nanomedicine. He has secured numerous research grants and published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals like Nature, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, Biomaterials, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Diabetologia, and Anatomical Sciences Education. Additionally, he has contributed to several book chapters and presented his work at international, regional, and local scientific conferences. He is also a co-author of two anatomy textbooks: Practical and Applied Histology (2025; 220 pages) and Essential Applied Anatomy (2025; 446 pages). With an H-index of 33 and over 4,500 citations, he is a recognized authority in his field. He is recognized as one of the world's top 2% of highly cited researchers in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He serves as an editor and reviewer for multiple journals and grant funding agencies. Beyond academia, Prof. Srinivasan is actively involved in community service, holding positions such as Chairman of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) of Lianhua Primary School Singapore and Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Neuroscience Association.
Prof. Srinivasan’s exceptional contributions to education and research have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards. These include the QS Reimagine Education Award (Blended & Presence Learning Category, 2025); the NUS Medicine Innovative Teaching Excellence Award (2025); the NUS Medicine Outstanding Mentor Award (2025); the NUS Medicine Mentees’ Choice Award (2024); the Hind Rattan Award (Jewel of India), conferred by the NRI Welfare Society of India (2024); the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (University Level, 2022); the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Teaching Excellence Awards (2019/20, 2020/21, and 2021/22); the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award (2020); the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Fortitude Award (2020); and the NUS Medical Education Grand Innovation Challenge (MEGIC) Award (2020, Team Lead). In recognition of his sustained and significant contributions, he was also awarded the Distinguished Long Service Medal by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore (2011 and 2015).
