I graduated as an engineer but later discovered an innate call to be an educator with a passion for transformative learning. In education, transformation is no less important than information. From my research and practice I have found that project-based learning is an ideal vehicle for helping students achieve the goals transformative learning.
I studied engineering because in my country back when I was a student, opportunities for tertiary education were hard to come by. When I gained
acceptance into an engineering course in a neighboring country, of course I took it. I stumbled into education by chance
several years later. Since then, I have found education to
be a perfect fit.
As they say, learning never ends. Hence, I constantly seek to grow in my knowledge and refine my methods through hands-on practice on my students, occasionally sharing my findings through publications. I was fortunate that my work was recognized by the QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Awards 2022 with my university being awarded the gold medal for Science of Learning for my submission.
