Elizabeth A. Barosa is a faculty member of the Chemistry Department of the College of Science at the Technological University of the Philippines- Manila. She is actively engaged as both researcher and extension workers, focusing on sustainability, environmental education, and community empowerment. 

As extension workers, Barosa has been invited by various communities, government sectors, schools, and organizations to conduct training programs and workshops that promote environmental sustainability and livelihood development. One of her notable advocacy initiatives is shampoo barb making, which promotes as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional shampoo products packaged in Single-use plastic sachets. Through this initiative, she empowers women and community members by providing them with practical skills that can serve as a sustainable livelihood and potential social enterprise.

Her extension work integrates science education, environmental awareness, and women's empowerment , enabling communities to reduce plastic waste while generating income through locally produced plant-based shampoo bars. This initiative also contributes to addressing plastic pollution and promoting responsible consumption and production practices within communities. The program has reached numerous beneficiaries through partnerships with schools, local government units, and community organizations, demonstrating the impact of combining environmental advocacy with livelihood opportunities.

Through her work in research and extension, Elizabeth A. Barosa continues to advance the role of science in addressing environmental challenges while empowering communities particularly women-to become active agents of sustainable development.
