Dr. Elnur Alizade is an academic, researcher and Program Head for Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering at the SABAH Center of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, where he graduated with distinction as the top student of the SABAH Groups faculty and completed his master’s degree in Oil and Gas Field Development at China University of Petroleum, graduating with distinction and being selected as graduate of the year.

Before joining academia, Dr. Alizade worked as an Assistant Project Engineer at BOS Shelf on BP’s Azeri-Central-East project. He completed his doctoral research in Oil and Gas Field Development and Operation, with a dissertation focused on improving oilfield development efficiency through the application of magnetic fields.

His academic and professional interests focus on petroleum engineering, oilfield development, process safety, corrosion control and the integration of innovative approaches into modern engineering practice. His early achievements include being selected for competitive scholarship and internship programmes by Turan Drilling & Engineering, BP, Binagadi Oil and BOS Shelf LLC, which strengthened his practical understanding of the energy sector and shaped his industry-oriented approach to teaching, research and academic programme development. He is the author and co-author of 24 scientific publications, including papers indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, as well as the author of one patent and winner of two grant competitions. In addition to research, Dr. Alizade is actively involved in curriculum development, academic programme management, laboratory modernisation, peer review and industry-oriented engineering education.
