Dr Eric Demoncheaux is Head of Year and a science educator at École des Roches in Normandy, France, where he teaches Chemistry, Biology, and Physics across the IB Diploma Programme. He holds a PhD from Anglia Rusking University (Cambridge) and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
His path into teaching followed over a decade in clinical research, beginning at 19 with an invitation to join Professor Tim Higenbottam's team at Papworth Hospital and later the University of Sheffield, studying the physico-chemistry of nitric oxide at trace physiological concentrations. His research was published in journals including Clinical Science, Circulation, and The Analyst, among others.
He moved into secondary education in the UK, spending twelve years at Battle Abbey School before joining École des Roches. He is an examiner for the IB (Physics) and Pearson (iGCSE Chemistry), and serves as a non-executive Director at Camcon Robotics, an advanced engineering company. He remains active in developing AI-assisted tools for chemistry education.
