Fatma Alzahraa A. Elkhamisy, MBBCh, MSc, MD  (Pathology), MHPE (Health Professions Education), is an award-winning and internationally recognized educator, known for her innovations in the medical and health professions education fields. Her focus is on internationalization of higher education; interactive learning environments, technology-enhanced learning, student inclusion, student wellbeing and flourishing, international student support, instructional design, curricular integration, sustainability in education, and faculty development in these areas. 

She is an associate professor of pathology, and serves as the Coordinator of International Students at King Salman International University, South Sinai, Egypt; seconded from the Faculty of Medicine, Capital (Formerly, Helwan) University, Cairo, Egypt. She has experience working in six other universities along her teaching career in medical, dental, and nursing colleges.

She is a Fellow for the International FAIMER Institute, Philadelphia, USA; an associate Fellow of the Association for Medical Educators in Europe ( AMEE, UK); and serves as Ambassador for the International Association for Medical Science Educators ( IAMSE, USA), and is a member of many other international and Egyptian scientific associations. 

She was selected three times in the international Power List 2025, 2024 and 2022 produced by The Pathologist magazine (UK, USA) among the 100 most inspiring pathologists worldwide for her distinct efforts in the pathology education field, being a champion of change. She also won the Times Higher Education award for the Arab World 2024 as the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year, for her work on inclusion and engagement of international and native medical students in their learning. Her work on wellbeing of international and national students was shortlisted at the QS Reimagine Awards 2025.

She has many international publications in the education as well as pathology fields, planned and presented many international workshops in prestigious educational conferences, including the AMEE (UK), IME (USA), APMEC (Asia-Pacific region), TUFH, and IMEC. She has peer-reviewed many educational articles for international journals and evaluated submissions for international educational conferences, including the annual ASME (UK) and AMEE (UK) conferences. She served as evaluator for the ASME (UK) Small Grants Awards, regional FAIMER Fellowship applications, and QS Reimagine Awards 2025. She had lead the planning, and implementation of three international scientific events in the fields of medical education and pathology. She currently serves as a Program Committee Member at the IAMSE Virtual Forum 2026 held by the International Association for Medical Science Educators (IAMSE), USA.
