A Chemical Engineer, she graduated from the Technological Institute of Ciudad Madero in June 1992. She earned a Master of Science specializing in Environmental Engineering from ITESM, Monterrey Campus, in 1996. She also has a specialization in  Chemical Engineering. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Sustainability at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

At Tecnológico de Monterrey, she held leadership roles as Director of the Sustainable Development Engineering Program and the Department of Chemical Engineering.

She launched the Women in Engineering and Sciences (Ingenia) initiative to advance women's participation in the School of Engineering and Sciences.

She has been a member of the Circle of Outstanding Professors since 2021 and won the 2022 Mujer Tec Award in the She4She category.
