Prof. Imelda S. Tolentino is an educator, academic leader, and information technology advocate currently serving as the BSIT Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programme at St Dominic College of Asia. She has extensive experience in curriculum development, academic quality assurance, industry collaboration, and technology-driven education initiatives aimed at preparing students for the evolving demands of the digital economy and Industry 4.0.
She currently serves as one of the National Officers of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) as the Vice President for Luzon and is also the Assistant Secretary of the Council of Deans in Information Technology Education (CODITE) Region 4A. Through these leadership roles, she actively contributes to the advancement of IT education, faculty development, academic collaboration, and innovation among higher education institutions in the Philippines.
Prof. Tolentino is also an internationally recognised technology academy instructor. She is an AWS Academy, Oracle Academy, and Cisco Networking Academy accredited instructor, enabling her to integrate globally aligned certifications, cloud technologies, networking, cybersecurity, and emerging IT competencies into the academic curriculum. She continuously promotes industry-aligned learning experiences that enhance student employability and professional readiness.
Her academic and professional engagements include participation in internationalisation initiatives, accreditation activities, faculty capability-building programmes, and community extension projects focused on digital and technology literacy. She has also been involved in projects that strengthen partnerships between academia and industry, while advocating for innovative teaching strategies, online and distance learning, and the responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in education.
Prof. Tolentino remains committed to empowering students, educators, and communities through transformative IT education, global collaboration, and lifelong learning initiatives that contribute to sustainable and inclusive development.
