Professor J. Joshua Thomas is a distinguished Computer Science academic, researcher, and academic leader specializing in intelligent systems, advanced computational techniques, and emerging AI technologies. He earned his Ph.D. in Intelligent Systems Techniques from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and has held academic leadership positions, including Head and Deputy Head of the Department of Computing.

His research expertise spans Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks, Hyper-Graph Attention Networks, Quantum Machine Learning, drug discovery, intelligent data analytics, and autonomous systems. He has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on institutional, national, and international research grants.

Professor Thomas has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and 12 books with leading publishers including Wiley, Elsevier, and IGI Global. He serves on international journal editorial boards and regularly contributes as a keynote speaker, plenary lecturer, workshop facilitator, and international conference expert.

Since 2024, Professor Thomas has served as a QS Reimagine Education Awards Judge, evaluating innovative educational initiatives and contributing his expertise to an international platform focused on transforming and advancing higher education.
