
He is a
researcher, university professor, author, and member of Panama's National
Research System (SNI). He serves as Director of the Research, Development, and
Innovation Center for Biotechnology, Green Energy, and Climate Change at the
Universidad Especializada de las Américas (UDELAS). His work spans
biotechnology, biomedical engineering, energy and emerging technologies,
artificial intelligence, innovation, sustainability, public health, and evidence-informed
public policy.
His
intellectual interests extend to complex systems, fractal structures, power-law
behavior, scientific governance, and how data, technology, and institutions
shape society. He is the author of several books and is especially passionate
about exploring the intersection between faith and science, seeking meaningful
dialogue among scientific knowledge, human experience, and spiritual
reflection. Beyond academia, he also enjoys amateur rocketry with his daughter,
an endeavor based on his commitment to curiosity, experimentation, and the
intergenerational transmission of scientific wonder.
