Dr. Kantha Reddy Muthangi is an accomplished higher education leader with over 18 years of experience in engineering education, international accreditation, academic innovation, outcome-based education, and service-learning. He currently serves as Adjunct Director at ABET and Adjunct Director – EPICS India at Purdue University, where he advances global engineering education through accreditation, quality assurance, and experiential learning initiatives.
In his role with ABET, Dr. Muthangi supports ABET's international engagement and outreach activities, particularly across India. He works closely with the ABET Headquarters leadership team to strengthen awareness of global accreditation standards, facilitate institutional engagement, promote continuous quality improvement, and support universities in their journey toward achieving internationally recognised accreditation. He also coordinates leadership visits, workshops, and strategic collaborations that foster excellence in engineering and computing education.
As Adjunct Director – EPICS India at Purdue University, he leads the growth and implementation of the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) programme across Indian higher education institutions. Through this initiative, he has helped establish partnerships with universities to integrate service-learning, multidisciplinary teamwork, and community engagement into engineering curricula, enabling students to develop technical expertise while addressing real-world societal challenges.
He earned his Master's degree in 2010 and completed his PhD in 2022. Through his leadership with ABET, Purdue University, and higher education institutions across India, Dr. Muthangi continues to advance excellence in engineering education, international accreditation, academic innovation, and impactful global collaboration.
