Kim-hung, Joe Lam (SFHEA, PhD, MPhil, PgC(Education), MBA) is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, Faculty of Science. He is the Programme Leader of the BSc(Hons.) of Analytical Sciences for Testing and Certification. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and also a fellow of Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Joe dedicated himself to enhance the educational journey of his students through innovative teaching pedagogies including AI-powered learning content, virtual laboratory and immersive technology align with flipped classroom and experiential learning. He also partners with student and industrial expert to provide a collaborative learning environment in teaching and learning, and his effort have been recognized by Departmental Excellence Teaching Award in 2023 and Faculty Teaching Award in 2024. He always shared his teaching practice through publications, workshops, seminars/webinars as well as international conferences. He strives to serve as a positive example within university, demonstrating the impact of passionate teaching and leadership to facilitate student success in building a more sustainable future. In 2025, he has successfully awarded the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy from Advance HE in the UK.
