LENA holds the position of Senior English Teacher within the General Studies Department at the Faculty of Language Studies and Human Development, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), a role she has fulfilled since 2010. Throughout her tenure, she has taught various courses focusing on English language proficiency, with her current emphasis on English for Specific Purposes (ESP) at the university level.

With extensive experience in higher education, LENA has served for several years as an external examiner for private colleges, contributing to the evaluation and quality assurance of academic programmes and student assessments. She has also been appointed as an expert content reviewer for local universities, providing professional input on academic materials, course content, and assessment resources. In addition, she has served as a manuscript reviewer, editor, and academic writer, contributing to the development, evaluation, refinement, and publication of scholarly and educational materials.

Her scholarly and professional interests focus particularly on educational innovation, alternative assessment, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, learning assessment methodologies, and online learning environments. She has actively developed and implemented innovative approaches to alternative assessment and technology-enhanced learning. Her work was recognised at the national level when she was awarded Third Place in the Alternative Assessment category at the Anugerah Khas YB Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi: Anugerah Khas Reka Bentuk Kurikulum dan Penyampaian Inovatif (AKRI) 2024 for “From Pages to Presentations: DUAL-MODE Assessments with Peer Learning for Professional Readiness” at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan.

LENA is also actively involved in local and international educational innovation competitions and has received recognition for her contributions to innovative teaching and learning. Among her notable achievements is being shortlisted for the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards 2023. Her continuing work in alternative assessment, AI-integrated education, and technology-enhanced learning reflects her commitment to developing innovative, learner-centred approaches that enhance teaching, assessment, and learning outcomes.
