Leo Chan is an experienced design strategist, educator, and programme leader with a strong track record in design thinking facilitation, innovation coaching, programme development, and cross-sector capacity building. Educated at leading design institutions in Hong Kong (PolyU Design) and the United Kingdom (Central Saint Martins and London College of Communication, University of the Arts London), and with extensive professional experience across Asia, he integrates human-centred design, strategic thinking, and systems perspectives to support organisational and service transformation. As a Programme Leader overseeing design programmes from pre-degree to postgraduate master’s level, and as a Senior Fellow in higher education, Leo has designed and facilitated academic curricula, executive workshops, and professional development initiatives. His work equips learners and managers with practical tools for innovation, problem framing, service design, and change leadership. His pedagogical and facilitation approach emphasises structured ideation, evidence-based decision-making, and actionable outcomes, closely aligned with the needs of public-sector managers navigating complexity, uncertainty, and policy-driven innovation. With over two decades of professional experience, Leo has contributed to strategic planning, facilitation, and advisory work across education, industry, and public-sector–adjacent organisations. He holds professional certifications in Design Thinking, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School, as well as a Certificate in Facilitating and Designing Workshops using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method from the Association of Master Trainers. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA, UK), demonstrating recognised expertise in adult learning, curriculum design, assessment, and leadership development. Currently, Leo is the Hong Kong cohort Programme Leader of MA Design Management under University of the Arts London (UAL).
