Lina Ahmad holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London. With over a decade of professional experience in the UAE, her work spans multiple sectors and project stages, from conceptual design and alternative scheme development to detailed documentation, execution, and site supervision.

Ahmad serves as an Associate Professor and Acting Director of Academic Educational Effectiveness at Zayed University. She is also co-editor of the book Teaching Design for Sustainable Futures: Community, Construction, and Creativity (Routledge, 2025), which explores the integration of creativity, community engagement, and experiential learning in sustainability-focused design education.

Her work has been exhibited and recognized internationally, including contributions to the National Pavilion UAE at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale, and participation in The Dis-Orientalist project at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia (2025). This project critically examines how generative AI can challenge stereotypical representations of urban environments in the UAE by engaging everyday architecture and hybrid local narratives. She has also presented her work at global venues, including the Smithsonian Folklife Festival (2022), Washington, DC.

Her research interests focus on modern architectural heritage in the UAE, virtual reality–based digital immersion, robotic and digital fabrication technologies, and their role in shaping regional higher education and the UAE’s creative industries.
